World Meditation Day
Breathe. Still. Begin.

When is World Meditation Day?
Every year on December 21.
What is World Meditation Day?
World Meditation Day on December 21 was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 2024 and first observed that month. Meditation practices have deep roots in Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Islamic and other traditions, and research links regular practice with lower stress and better attention. The day invites people everywhere to take a few quiet minutes to breathe, sit still and pay attention to the present moment.
