What is Decembeard?
Decembeard is a December fundraising campaign in which people grow a beard, or wear a fake one, to raise money and awareness for bowel cancer. It is run in the UK by the charity Bowel Cancer UK, and similar campaigns run elsewhere. Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers, but it is far more treatable when caught early, so the month also encourages people to know the symptoms and take part in screening.
