Hornbill Festival
Where Nagaland's tribes come alive.

When is Hornbill Festival?
From December 1 to December 10.
What is Hornbill Festival?
The Hornbill Festival is held every year from December 1 to 10 at the Naga Heritage Village of Kisama, near Kohima in the Indian state of Nagaland. Started by the state government in 2000, it brings together all of Nagaland's tribes, and its opening day coincides with Nagaland Statehood Day. It takes its name from the hornbill, a bird that appears throughout Naga folklore, and fills the days with traditional dances, songs, crafts, food, archery and a rock music contest.
