What is National Take the Stairs Day?
National Take the Stairs Day, held in January, encourages people to skip the lift and climb the stairs. Stair climbing is a short, intense workout that raises the heart rate, strengthens the legs and burns more energy than walking on flat ground, all without a gym membership. The American Lung Association promotes the day alongside its Fight for Air Climb events, in which people race up skyscraper stairwells to raise money for lung health.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
