International Day of the Mediterranean Diet
Olive oil, sunshine and shared tables.

When is International Day of the Mediterranean Diet?
Every year on November 16.
What is International Day of the Mediterranean Diet?
The International Day of the Mediterranean Diet is a UN observance on November 16, the anniversary of the diet's inscription on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010. The listing recognises more than a way of eating: the skills, knowledge and rituals around farming, fishing, cooking and sharing food in countries around the Mediterranean. The day celebrates olive oil, vegetables, legumes, grains, fish and long meals eaten together, a pattern linked to better heart health.
