Kannada Rajyotsava
One state. One language. One pride.

When is Kannada Rajyotsava?
Every year on November 1.
What is Kannada Rajyotsava?
Kannada Rajyotsava marks November 1, 1956, when the Kannada-speaking regions of southern India were united into one state under the States Reorganisation Act. The state was first called Mysore and was renamed Karnataka in 1973. Every year the red-and-yellow Kannada flag flies across the state, schools and towns hold cultural programmes, and the government presents the Rajyotsava Awards to people who have served Karnataka.
