What is International Day for the Prevention of and Fight against All Forms of Transnational Organized Crime?

The International Day for the Prevention of and Fight against All Forms of Transnational Organized Crime was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2024. It falls on November 15, the anniversary of the adoption in 2000 of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, known as the Palermo Convention. The day draws attention to human trafficking, migrant smuggling, the drug and arms trades and money laundering, and to the cooperation between countries needed to stop them.
