Republic Day
From empire to republic, Brazil united.

When is Republic Day?
Every year on November 15.
What is Republic Day?
Proclamation of the Republic Day on November 15 marks the day in 1889 when a military movement led by Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca overthrew Brazil's monarchy. Emperor Pedro II was sent into exile in Europe, and Brazil became a federal republic, with Deodoro as its first president. It is a national public holiday, marked with official ceremonies, flag-raisings and parades.
