World Olive Tree Day
A tree of peace and plenty.

When is World Olive Tree Day?
Every year on November 26.
What is World Olive Tree Day?
World Olive Tree Day on November 26 was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2019 to honour a tree that has shaped Mediterranean life for thousands of years. The olive branch is an ancient symbol of peace, and the tree's oil, wood and fruit have fed and supported communities from Spain to Türkiye and the Levant. Some olive trees are more than a thousand years old, and the day is marked with harvest festivals, oil tastings and planting events, including in the groves of Türkiye's Aegean coast.
