World Environmental Education Day
Learn the Earth. Love the Earth.
When is World Environmental Education Day?
Every year on January 26.
What is World Environmental Education Day?
World Environmental Education Day on January 26 highlights the role of learning in protecting the planet. It draws on the Belgrade Charter of 1975, one of the first international frameworks to set out what environmental education should achieve: awareness, knowledge, skills and action. Schools, nature centres and environmental groups mark the day with outdoor lessons, clean-ups, tree planting and projects that teach children how to save water and energy and reduce waste.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
