World Wetlands Day
It's time for wetlands restoration.

When is World Wetlands Day?
Every year on February 2.
What is World Wetlands Day?
World Wetlands Day on February 2 marks the signing of the Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971, one of the oldest international environmental treaties. It has been celebrated since 1997 and became an official UN international day in 2021. Marshes, peatlands, mangroves, lakes and river deltas filter water, store carbon, soften floods and shelter countless birds and fish, yet roughly a third of the world's wetlands have been lost since 1970, so the day is marked with bird-watching walks, clean-ups and campaigns to protect and restore them.
