The International Day of Women in Multilateralism on January 25 was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2024. It recognises the women who lead and shape international organisations, diplomacy and peace negotiations, while women remain under-represented among ambassadors, heads of agencies and negotiators. The UN and member states mark the day with panels, campaigns and calls for equal representation at every level of international decision-making.
