Euro Day
One continent, one currency.

When is Euro Day?
Every year on January 1.
What is Euro Day?
Euro Day on January 1 marks the launch of the euro in 1999, when eleven European Union countries fixed their exchange rates and began using it for banking and accounting. Euro notes and coins followed on January 1, 2002, replacing currencies such as the Deutsche Mark, the French franc and the Italian lira. Today the euro is used by more than 20 countries and hundreds of millions of people, making it the world's second most important currency after the US dollar.
