Religious Freedom Day
Free to believe, free to differ.

When is Religious Freedom Day?
Every year on January 16.
What is Religious Freedom Day?
Religious Freedom Day on January 16 marks the 1786 adoption of Thomas Jefferson's Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom by the Virginia General Assembly. The statute became a model for the First Amendment's protection of the free exercise of religion and the separation of church and state. Presidents have proclaimed the day every year since 1993, and schools use it to teach students about freedom of conscience.
