Palestine Independence Day
Declared in 1988.

When is Palestine Independence Day?
Every year on November 15.
What is Palestine Independence Day?
On November 15, 1988, the Palestinian National Council meeting in Algiers adopted the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, read aloud by Yasser Arafat. The text was written largely by the poet Mahmoud Darwish and proclaimed the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital. The anniversary is a national holiday for Palestinians, marked with flags, speeches, school events and gatherings at home and in the diaspora.
