National Mate Day
One gourd, endless company.

When is National Mate Day?
Every year on November 30.
What is National Mate Day?
National Mate Day celebrates yerba mate, the herbal drink that Argentina shares with Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil. Brought to the country by Guaraní and Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century, it is now drunk from a gourd with a metal straw at nearly every table, at every hour of the day. The 30 November holiday says thank you to a plant, a people and a way of sharing time.
