What is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People?
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29 was designated by the UN General Assembly in 1977. The date recalls November 29, 1947, when the Assembly adopted Resolution 181 on the partition of Palestine. The day reaffirms support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including self-determination, independence and the right of refugees to return, and is marked with meetings at the UN and events around the world.
