International Journalist Day

The truth has a cost.

Today
International Journalist Day

When is International Journalist Day?

Every year on November 19.

What is International Journalist Day?

International Journalist Day honours the reporters, photographers and editors who keep the public informed. They cover wars, corruption, disasters and elections, often in places where few others will go, and every year some of them are jailed, threatened or killed for their work. The day remembers those who died doing the job and invites readers to support independent journalism, whether by subscribing, sharing reliable reporting or defending press freedom.

How to celebrate

Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
