World Toilet Day

When is World Toilet Day?

Every year on November 19.

What is World Toilet Day?

World Toilet Day on November 19 was started in 2001 by the World Toilet Organization, founded in Singapore by Jack Sim, and became an official UN day in 2013. Around 3.5 billion people still lack safely managed sanitation, and hundreds of millions have no toilet at all, which spreads disease and puts women and girls at risk. The day mixes humour with serious campaigning to raise money and political will for toilets, sewers and clean water.
