African Statistics Day

When is African Statistics Day?

Every year on November 18.

What is African Statistics Day?

African Statistics Day has been marked on November 18 since 1990, when it was adopted by African ministers responsible for planning and statistics. Reliable figures on population, health, jobs and prices are what governments need to plan schools, clinics, roads and budgets, yet many countries still lack them. The day is used by national statistics offices, universities and the African Union to promote better data collection, census work and public trust in official numbers.
