National Sovereignty Day
Sovereignty defended on the Paraná.

When is National Sovereignty Day?
Every year on November 20.
What is National Sovereignty Day?
National Sovereignty Day on November 20 commemorates the Battle of Vuelta de Obligado in 1845, when Argentine forces stretched chains across the Paraná River to stop an Anglo-French fleet. The fleet broke through, but the resistance and the costly campaign that followed led Britain and France to recognise Argentina's control of its rivers a few years later. The day was established by law in 1974 and is now a public holiday, usually moved to a Monday.
