Yule
The sun returns — light conquers darkness.

When is Yule?
Every year on December 21.
What is Yule?
Yule is an ancient midwinter festival of the Germanic and Norse peoples, held around the winter solstice to mark the turning point when the days begin to grow longer. Its traditions included feasting, burning a great log through the long night, and bringing evergreens indoors as a sign of life that survives the winter. Many of these customs passed into Christmas, which is still called jul in the Scandinavian languages, and today Yule is also celebrated by modern pagans.
