Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
Believe, support, prevent.
When is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month?
From April 1 to April 30.
What is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month?
Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month in April works to prevent sexual violence and to support survivors across the United States. Advocates began organising events in the 1980s, the month was first observed nationally in 2001, and presidents have proclaimed it every year since 2009. Its colour is teal, and on Denim Day people wear jeans to challenge the myth that what a victim wears invites assault.
