When is Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action?

Every year on April 1.

What is Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action?

Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action, held each April 1, is the youth-driven campaign of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids that asks young people to push back against the tobacco and nicotine industry. The day grew out of Kick Butts Day, founded in 1996, and was rebranded in 2019 to cover e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, flavored products and the marketing tactics aimed at hooking a new generation. Events are typically youth-led: school assemblies, marketing-tactics pop-ups, awareness walks, classroom workshops and resource fairs. The day carries a clear message: health is not a trend, addiction is not a game, and young people are not a target market.
