National Homeless Persons' Remembrance Day
Speak their names.

When is National Homeless Persons' Remembrance Day?
Every year on December 21.
What is National Homeless Persons' Remembrance Day?
National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day on December 21, the longest night of the year, was started in 1990 by the National Coalition for the Homeless in the United States. It remembers the people who died while homeless during the past year, many of them from illness, violence or exposure to the cold. Communities hold candlelight vigils and read the names aloud, and many use the day to push for affordable housing and to support local shelters.
