International Migrants Day
Harnessing the potential of human mobility.

When is International Migrants Day?
Every year on December 18.
What is International Migrants Day?
International Migrants Day on December 18 was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2000. It marks the adoption on December 18, 1990, of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. Around 280 million people live outside the country where they were born, and the day highlights their contributions to the societies they join, the dangers many face on the way, and their right to be treated with dignity.
