Korean American Day
A new home, a lasting culture.

When is Korean American Day?
Every year on January 13.
What is Korean American Day?
Korean American Day on January 13 marks the arrival in Honolulu in 1903 of the first group of Korean immigrants to the United States, about one hundred people who came to work on Hawaii's sugar plantations. It was first proclaimed in 2003, on the centennial, and has been recognised by Congress. The day celebrates the contributions of more than two million Korean Americans to the country's business, arts, science, food and public life, with festivals, exhibitions and community events.
