Independent Artist Day
Made by hand. Made by humans.
When is Independent Artist Day?
Every year on April 3.
What is Independent Artist Day?
Independent Artist Day, celebrated each April 3, was founded by Minted, the online design marketplace, to honour the thousands of artists who work outside the walls of large galleries and institutions. The day exists to celebrate independent creators and the path they've chosen — building studios, mailing lists, websites and livelihoods one piece at a time, often while balancing day jobs, families and the slow grind of being heard. It also pushes back against a moment when AI is flooding the creative marketplace, reminding the world that human imagination, craft and the courage to make something personal are still the most valuable things an artwork can carry.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
