Carl Sagan Day
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
When is Carl Sagan Day?
Every year on November 9.
What is Carl Sagan Day?
Carl Sagan Day on November 9 celebrates the birthday of the American astronomer and science communicator, born in New York in 1934. Sagan helped plan NASA's planetary missions, including the Golden Records carried by the Voyager probes, and brought the universe into living rooms with his 1980 television series Cosmos. Fans mark the day with stargazing nights, public lectures and readings from Pale Blue Dot, his reflection on Earth seen from deep space.
