Bahrain Accession Day
The second day of the celebration.
When is Bahrain Accession Day?
Every year on December 17.
What is Bahrain Accession Day?
December 17 is the second day of Bahrain's national holidays, known as Accession Day. It honours the accession of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who became ruler in 1961 and led Bahrain to full independence in 1971. Together with National Day on December 16, it forms the country's main civic celebration of the year, with parades, fireworks, cultural shows and family gatherings.
