What is Thank Your Mentor Day?
Thank Your Mentor Day falls in January during National Mentoring Month in the United States, a campaign launched in 2002 by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and MENTOR, the National Mentoring Partnership. It invites people to thank the teachers, coaches, managers and neighbours who guided them, often without being asked. Research shows that young people with mentors are more likely to stay in school and aim higher, and the day also encourages people to become mentors themselves.
