Thailand National Day

When is Thailand National Day?

Every year on December 5.

What is Thailand National Day?

Thailand's National Day on December 5 is the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, born in 1927, who reigned from 1946 until his death in 2016, the longest reign in Thai history. The day is also Thailand's Father's Day, as the late king was regarded as a father figure to the nation. People wear yellow, the colour of his birthday, offer alms to monks and attend candle-lighting ceremonies in his memory.
