Syria Independence Day
The day the last soldier left.
Today
When is Syria Independence Day?
Every year on April 17.
What is Syria Independence Day?
Syria marks 17 April 1946, the day the last French soldier left the country and full sovereignty took effect. It is also known as Evacuation Day — the evacuation is what made independence a fact rather than a declaration.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
