Libya Independence Day
The first independence the UN ever granted.

When is Libya Independence Day?
Every year on December 24.
What is Libya Independence Day?
Libya became independent on December 24, 1951, as the United Kingdom of Libya under King Idris I, uniting the regions of Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and Fezzan. It was the first country to gain independence through a decision of the United Nations, after Italian colonial rule and a period of British and French administration following the Second World War. The anniversary is a national day in Libya, marked with flags, official ceremonies and gatherings in Tripoli and Benghazi.
