Human Rights Day
Our rights, our future, right now.

When is Human Rights Day?
Every year on December 10.
What is Human Rights Day?
Human Rights Day on December 10 marks the day in 1948 when the UN General Assembly, meeting in Paris, adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Drafted by a committee chaired by Eleanor Roosevelt, it set out for the first time the rights every person is entitled to, from freedom of speech and religion to education and fair trial. It has been translated into hundreds of languages, and the day is marked with campaigns, debates and the UN Human Rights Prize.
