Nobel Prize Day
Celebrating extraordinary contributions to humanity.
When is Nobel Prize Day?
Every year on December 10.
What is Nobel Prize Day?
Nobel Prize Day on December 10 marks the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish chemist and inventor of dynamite, who died in 1896. In his will he left most of his fortune to fund prizes for physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace, first awarded in 1901. On this day the laureates receive their medals and diplomas in Stockholm, and the Peace Prize is presented in Oslo.
