When is World Chagas Disease Day?

Every year on April 14.

What is World Chagas Disease Day?

World Chagas Disease Day was recognized by the World Health Assembly in 2019 and marks 14 April 1909, when Brazilian physician Carlos Chagas diagnosed the first patient. The parasitic disease, spread mainly by triatomine bugs, affects millions of people, most of whom do not know they are infected.
