Polar Bear Week
Their ice is melting. Act now.
When is Polar Bear Week?
From November 3 to November 9.
What is Polar Bear Week?
Polar Bear Week, organised by Polar Bears International, takes place in early November, when polar bears gather near Churchill, Manitoba, waiting for the sea ice on Hudson Bay to freeze. Polar bears hunt seals from the ice, so a shorter ice season means a longer fast on land. The week draws attention to the effects of a warming Arctic, with live bear cams, school lessons and calls to cut carbon emissions.
