Albanian Liberation Day
Remember the cost. Honour the freed.

When is Albanian Liberation Day?
Every year on November 29.
What is Albanian Liberation Day?
Albanian Liberation Day on November 29 marks 1944, when the last German forces withdrew from Albania at the end of the Second World War. The country had been occupied first by Italy from 1939 and then by Germany from 1943, and was freed by partisan resistance without the arrival of Allied armies. It is a public holiday, observed with wreath-laying at war memorials, official ceremonies and school programmes about the partisans and civilians who died.
