Albanian Independence Day
One flag. One people. One day.

When is Albanian Independence Day?
Every year on November 28.
What is Albanian Independence Day?
Albanian Independence Day on November 28 marks 1912, when the Assembly of Vlorë, led by Ismail Qemali, declared Albania independent from the Ottoman Empire and raised the red flag with the black double-headed eagle. The date was chosen to echo November 28, 1443, when the national hero Skanderbeg is said to have raised the same flag at Krujë. Albanians in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and the diaspora celebrate with flags, parades, music and family gatherings.
