Texas Independence Day
Remember the Alamo.

When is Texas Independence Day?
Every year on March 2.
What is Texas Independence Day?
Texas Independence Day, observed on March 2, marks the 1836 adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence at Washington-on-the-Brazos, when 59 delegates broke from Mexico after years of escalating tension, the stand at the Alamo, and the rebellion led by Sam Houston. The decisive victory at San Jacinto on April 21, 1836 secured the new Republic of Texas, which would remain independent for nearly a decade before joining the United States in 1845.
