No Politics Day

When is No Politics Day?

Every year on February 12.

What is No Politics Day?

No Politics Day, founded in 2017 in Rochester, New York by Bob Matthews, asks one simple thing: take a break from politics for a day. The day's premise is that the ancient Greek word politiká — 'the things that concern the cities' — has come to dominate daily conversation, friendships and family life to the point where it is a chronic source of stress for roughly a third of adults in the United States. The day invites people to talk about anything else, listen to anyone else, and remember that politics is not the only thing people are.

How to celebrate

Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
