Disaster Preparedness Day
Be ready, and you save lives.
When is Disaster Preparedness Day?
Every year on November 12.
What is Disaster Preparedness Day?
12 November was declared Disaster Preparedness Day after the earthquake that struck Düzce in 1999. Being ready for disasters, taking precautions and learning what to do when one happens save lives. The work runs under AFAD, Türkiye's disaster and emergency authority, and covers training, drills and early warning for earthquakes, floods, landslides and fires.
