When is American Craft Beer Week?

From May 11 to May 17.

What is American Craft Beer Week?

American Craft Beer Week, observed the week of May 11–17, is the annual toast to the more than 9,000 small, independent U.S. breweries that turn local water, grain and hops into beer with a sense of place. Launched in 2006 by the Boulder-based Brewers Association and Craftbeer.com, the week encourages beer lovers to try a new-to-them independent brewery (the association notes that most Americans live within 10 miles of one), brew their own batch at home, cook with beer, or simply raise a glass to the small producers that keep American beer culture varied and alive. The week falls as the weather turns warm enough for backyards, barbecues and outdoor tables — exactly when a cold, locally made IPA, pilsner or saison tastes best.
