What is Wildland Firefighter Week of Remembrance?
Wildland Firefighter Week of Remembrance, held June 30 to July 6, honors the wildland firefighters who lost their lives battling wildfires. It asks us to remember them by their names and stories, not as statistics. Established in 2014, the week spans the anniversaries of the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire, which claimed nineteen Granite Mountain Hotshots, and the 1994 South Canyon Fire.
