What is Regaib Kandili?
Regaib Kandili is observed on the night before the first Friday of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar. It marks the night Muhammad's parents are said to have conceived him. In Turkey it is one of the five holy nights (Kandil geceleri) observed with special prayers, mosque visits, and the lighting of minarets.
