What is Recreation Day (Tasmania)?
Recreation Day is a public holiday in northern Tasmania, Australia, held on the first Monday of November. It gives the north a long weekend to balance Royal Hobart Regatta Day, which is a holiday in the south of the state. With spring well underway, people use it for barbecues, bushwalks, fishing, gardening and the first outdoor outings of the warm season.
