What is National Bible Sunday?
National Bible Sunday is observed by some churches in the United States and elsewhere on a Sunday in late January, as a day to celebrate the Bible and encourage people to read it. Churches mark it with sermons on scripture, readings, and the giving of Bibles to children, new members and people who do not have one. The day also highlights the work of Bible societies, which translate the scriptures into new languages and distribute them around the world.
