What is Eid al-Adha (Turkey)?
Eid al-Adha — Kurban Bayramı in Turkey — commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. It is celebrated for four days. Families who can afford it sacrifice a sheep, cow, or goat, and distribute the meat to neighbours, relatives, and those in need. It is one of the two major Islamic festivals and a public holiday in Turkey.
