What is Islamic New Year?
The first day of Muharram opens the Hijri year, counted from the Prophet Muhammad's migration from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE. It is a quiet, reflective occasion rather than a festive one, marked with prayer and family gatherings.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
